The dramatic acceleration in the electrification of motor automobiles is placing pressure on the cashflow wanted to fund this transformation of the business. In the foreseeable future, the margins on electrical automobiles will not achieve the identical ranges as these on ICE autos. The ever-increasing position of digitalization and software requires new approaches, new organizational setups and new investments in innovation and capabilities from automobile producers. At the same time, complex global supply chains are susceptible to developments corresponding to deglobalization and more and more frequent pure disasters, in the end threatening automotive production.
