A 10-Point Plan for Churches (Without Being Overwhelmed)

Top Reasons to Go to Church Even If Most No Longer Do

It’s unfortunate and rather painful to know that going to church nowadays is no longer a priority for many people and proof of it is the fact that church attendance has fallen quite substantially. This is something that not only baptist churches can attest but other denominations as well. Yes, it is true that there are more than a handful of reasons why people no longer go to church, but haven’t you pondered on the thought that there also are very good reasons why you should go?

Jesus himself always found a way to go weekly worship.

You should know that Jesus always made sure He spent most of his time at the place of worship. Amazingly, Jesus started committing Himself to the church as a youngster. This is largely in contrast to most children today who need a ton of convincing for them to go to church with their parents. In other words, the Lord taught all of us how important it is to commit to going to our place of worship, so it is our responsibility to follow that.

Early Christians never hesitated in going to weekly worships.

The New Testament made mention that the first Christians were committed to gathering every first day of the week, which literally translates to spending Sunday as the day of the Lord. People assembled for a great reason, which was to study God’s Word. The first Christians realized that listening to the Word of God is something they ought to do because of all the blessings that have been bestowed upon them, but the sad thing is the new generation, at least some of them, no longer sees it that way.

God instructed all of us to go to weekly worship.

Remember that God’s declaration should be powerful enough to convince you how important it is to go to church. You must start understanding that some things are meant to be followed and obeyed simply because they are integral parts of God’s declaration, and that includes worship. It is everyone’s duty to go to church on a regular basis because it is what God has told us in the first place.

Going to church will do some great things for you.

While you probably are thinking about so many other things to do on a Sunday or any other day that’s supposed to be spent in church, remember that there are six other days to do them. One of the reasons why people don’t go to church anymore is because they feel like they don’t get anything out of it. If you happen to be one of those people, we recommend that you take a deep breath and figure out why churches exist. The Lord created the first day of the week for His people to spend for encouragement and spiritual edification. This means going to church is something that you must do not as a favor to the Lord, but a favor to yourself.
